Speaking the Soul's Language

Hello, my name is Iyan Whitewolf. I am an artist, author, storyteller, and wisdom keeper. I'd like to introduce you to the topic of this blog, which explores how metaphysical and supernatural concepts have inspired my storytelling and creative expression.

Many years ago, I was bitten by a brown recluse spider while living in Jamaica, which became the catalyst for a very profound experience. I had been hospitalized for 10 days with a heart rate of 37 beats per minute as the venom, once injected, had gone systemic. On the next-to-last night, when I was in the hospital, I had an out-of-body experience that has left a lasting impact to this day. Although I had been an artist prior, this experience brought me into a different realm of thought, a different realm of inspiration, and a more connected sense of motivation.

During that out-of-body experience on the night death came to visit, I was transported in dreamtime to a cave behind Spider Rock in Canyon de Chelly in Arizona. There I met the Spirit Walker, a great and ancient healer adorned in a full-length headdress of glistening blue-black feathers, who danced his song to save my life. He whispered with words not spoken that we needed to remember what was sacred while embracing our authentic truths, which are only spoken through the soul. So, my art of storytelling, my art of creating, which manifests from nothing, is the all-encompassing something that we can be inspired and motivated by creative expressions.

This encounter altered the very depth of my perceptions in life and set me on a journey to share my truth.
